Tuft Decision

You guys know that I was on the coffee table hunt for awhile. And although I was originally going to go with the round woven coffee table from Pottery Barn I decided not to.

Because all I could imagine was dirty feet on it and having no way to clean it. Luckily I had thought of this as it was sitting in my checkout basket. Especially after I looked at the care instructions:

Wicker & Woven Furniture Care & Cleaning Instructions
For daily care, simply wipe clean using a soft, dry cloth. To protect the finish, avoid the use of abrasive chemicals, harsh cleaners and rough cleaning pads and polishes. To remove lodged debris, we recommend using a vacuum with a brush attachment.

Ha! Dry cloth...PB doesn't know my husband or my dog.

So the hunt continued - until I came across Megan's blog. Not only is her daughter Olivia the sweetest but I love her style. And as soon as I saw Olivia's little hands on the very corner of what appeared to be a tufted ottoman I got overly giddy and inquired as to where I can get my much larger hands on such an item.
So Megan was kind enough to link me and I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived in five days (+ free shipping) and we love it.
Although slightly annoying that it has dropped in price a smidgen and they only do price adjustments seven days out...I digress.

So after it arrived I did some furniture rearranging at home and went out and bought a cute ottoman tray with a gift card to Williams-Sonoma I had leftover from our wedding.

Which should be noted that you can use a Williams-Sonoma card at Pottery Barn and West Elm. Had I known it never would have lasted that long!

I also wanted to put some books on it for a display. (Even though my sweet husband thought it was a tray for putting food on - oh my!) I think I am going to make a small book for it with photos of Finn too :) It also should be noted that I used two applications of Scotchguard to ensure maximum protection.

A candle and some flowers completed the look!
He wasn't too sure how to feel about it - until he learned how to jump on it.

Thanks for all the sweet comments from yesterday!

  2. Love it!! And you've decorated perfectly! Aaron would think the same about the tray - ha! Always thinking practically and not decoratively ;) We need something like this in our living room - now that Deedee takes up 75% of the couch, I need somewhere to put my feet up! lol

  10. Oh I love that ottoman! I have been on the lookout for a nice foot stool, they are surprisingly hard to find. I see a lot of those floor puffs, but they're usually in such bright colors. Our living room is more neutral. I love the tray you picked out too! I think the picture of Finn on the couch is my favorite part though, he is seriously SO cute.
