Bedtime

You know something that sucks? When your husband is in Hawaii for work and you are just at work. Yup, that's currently happening to me. It's okay I have a date with my DVR, I am seriously behind on Nashville and I decided to record #Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. I am pretty sure if David saw that I was watching that for even a second he would throw the TV out the window.
(His view is so much better!)

I can't complain too much however, I have a Cal King all to myself (well and Finn) and I find it quite easy to fall asleep with all that room! Now if only the DVR was in that room...

And with any new bed purchase comes  a new linens purchase - which kinda sucks and kinda rocks at the same time. Here are some things I am loving.

First I have to give David credit for deciding having drawers in our box spring was a necessity. Because I have to admit it's pretty freaking awesome. Linen storage can be a pain so I am excited that I can store it right beneath the bed and not take up valuable closet space. I think most mattress locations have them they are called Sto-A-Way box springs.

Pure Beech Sheets

These sheets are made out of Modal which is a fiber that comes from Beechwood trees in Europe. David and I have been a big fan of these sheets for a long time. They feel so soft against your skin. Negatives are you must wash according to directions (the washer can rip them) and they get super wrinkled. Worth the investment (always with a 20% coupon)!

Sienna Paisley Duvet Cover
I bought this duvet over two years ago and still adore it. Which is rare because I like to change up my duvets often! I usually switch it out in the winter for this one but I am ready for something new. Where is your go to for duvets? I usually don't stray from Pottery Barn but lately they are all looking the same.

Also where have King sized pillows been my whole life? Seriously I have been missing out for a long time!

This post officially makes me feel like an old woman!

  1. Haha don't feel old!! I'm so jealous you have a Cal. King! We are waiting until we buy a house to get a King bed and of course our 17 lb. dog takes up most of our Queen bed right now. I always go to Pottery Barn for duvets too, so classic. West Elm has some more modern designs, we have the navy stripe one and its held up pretty well so far.

  2. Oh my gosh! I desperately need that boxspring! I like Home Goods for new duvet covers! You can find some really cute stuff at a good discount!

  3. I have those same sheets and we love them as well. However, when we had people house-sitting they must have washed them improperly because upon returning home they had rips in them. So mad!

YES to king sized pillows, and I just bought a duvet from west elm that I'm happy with!

  4. Hahaha! Aaron caught me watching RichKids of Beverly Hills the other day and almost died...but my excuse is even though they act stupid, but they are actually pretty funny and witty, which I wasn't expecting ;) I do enjoy a good dose of sarcasm, so I recorded the entire season lol.

I wish we had drawers in our box spring! Such a great idea for storage!

  5. I want a king cal so bad!! I'll even settle for a king! A queen just doesn't cut it when your dog insists on sleeping with you. Don't watch that Rich Kids show!! Those kids suck and need a wake up call. I love reality tv but I hate supporting crappy shows like this one. My husband would for real real throw the tv out if he knew I watched ONE episode!

  6. I'm obsessed with Nashville and I need to catch up. Thanks for reminding me! I kind of forgot about it with all of the craziness going on in our life. And did you see that episode of Rich Kids where that girl said that she doesn't smile at strangers because she doesn't want to ruin the collagen in her face or whatever? Ridiculous! That was the only episode I've seen. Also, drawers in the box spring is genuis!

  9. I grew up being taught that for as much time as you spend in your bed, you better love it and you better be comfortable! I tend to splurge on my bed because of it, but it's so true! Love this post!

  10. Drawer under your bed = amazing! Then I could have more space in the linen closet, too ha. Nashville is definitely a favorite and Rich Kids will suck you right in for sure.

Umm, how can I get a job where David works? I would do anything in order to go to Hawaii for work. Not fair!

  13. HAWAII?! And you couldn't go with?! Ohhhh that's sad. My husband is currently in Arizona and I want to punch him every time I put on my 18 layers to walk our dog. I may retire from dog walking for the rest of the year after this!

  17. OMG I want a bed with drawers! That is so amazing! Ever since I saw you got a new bed, I've been thinking we need to also. Ours is SO old and my back always hurts in the morning. I think it's time. Did you have to buy a new down comforter or did you already have a CA King?
