Yay & Nay

Just a couple of baby items that made life a little easier or were a complete bust!

 Blooming Bath
Verdict: NAY
In theory I really wanted to like this. I mean look at that sweet baby above. Now it's not that Presley didn't like it it's just that I found it so unfunctional. To clean it you had to put it in the washing machine and then dry it in the dryer (which took forever). Let's chalk this one up to a total waste of water and electricity. We decided to go with a normal plastic tub and it works great.

Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother
Verdict: YAY
We were gifted this by the family I used to take care of in college. Being such lovers of the ocean we were hoping Presley would love it. Well she does and I can easily plop her in the crib and it entertains her while I get ready in the morning. Read: priceless

Wipes Warmer
Verdict: NAY
As nice as it would be to always have a warm wipe on hand, it's just not reality. When you're traveling or on the road this is not something you're going to bring with you. So skip it and they will never know the difference.

Boppy Waterproof Changing Liners

Verdict: YAY
Just go out and buy three packages of these now. It makes that 2am "I peed while mid diaper change" changes so much easier.

Baby Denim
Verdict: NAY
I agree with Stephanie on this one. Sadly I fell victim to the tiny cuteness and invested in a couple of pairs. Truth is when your baby is so little you will just want him or her in soft snuggly fabric. But not gonna lie they are still pretty adorable.

Solly Wrap
Verdict: YAY
Absolutely love this wrap. It's lightweight and after watching one video super easy to use. Major plus is Presley loves it and that makes both of us super happy.

Rubis Switzerland Baby Nail Scissors
Verdict: YAY
We were gifted these as well and they are a life saver. I never feel like I am going to snip Presley when I am cutting her nails. Highly recommend and also make a great baby shower gift!

Anything you felt made life easier with a little one?

  1. Ah love these kinds of posts! I have those changing liners and the Solly wrap on our registry :) I wondered about that flower bath so I'm glad we opted against that. I was thinking the same thing with baby jeans! I ended up getting a 6-9 month pair which are still super cute, but more practical. The itty bitty ones look SO hard to get on babies!

  7. Love this! We had the blooming bath too and I liked it at first, but we really never had the right sink for it to fit into and it just didn't work out great in the end. That baby einstein toy looks perfect and I wish I would have had more of those type of toys when Brody was younger! Brody's 16 months now and I still can't get myself to put a pair of jeans on him yet!! I'm sure I'll cave now that it's getting cold again.

  8. I always love seeing these lists! However I am one of the crazies that loves the wipe warmer! We use cloth wipes, so it's somewhat of a necessity though! I can't reccomend cloth diapering enough! Have you ever considered it?

  9. Love this list and totally agree with it. We have the puji tub and love it but grayson is growing so quickly that we are going to have to find a plastic tub soon to put in the bath tub. What do you use? Also, we definitely use the wipe warmer. It was given to us by a friend and it makes him pee on me less hahaha

  10. I totally agree on the baby jeans!! We do have a couple of pairs for dressed up outings, but I've tried to look for little jeggings that have pockets and look like jeans but you really do want your baby to just be comfortable. We do have a wipes warmer in our nursery and still notice it. Avery never seemed to notice the difference between the warm and the cold. I liked to think it helped in the middle of the night since that's primarily when we use it, but who knows! :)

  13. The wipe warmer lasted a week in our house. I read an article that said they tend to harbor bacteria! After that, I put it back in the box. I'm seriously going to have to look into that dream soother! I've never seen that before and Mykenzi is a sucker for anything that lights up!

  15. Totally agree. And for the jeans I ended up getting my son these sweatpant like jeans from carters. They were so comfy and I was sad when he was too big for them!
