Five on Friday

ONE

First of all my husband had been gone since Sunday and I CANNOT wait for him to get home. While he was gone I managed to steal our family room drapes for the nursery - let's see if he notices. I cannot wait to see his cute mug.
TWO

Speaking of cute mug. David is fighting me on maternity photos. As in waste of money, do not want to take them. So either I guilt him into them or I get real close and personal with my tripod and remote. But then I remember how the cake pictures went...and well I will need to find a more private location for him to cooperate.

THREE

Did you guys know Sugarboo Designs has made a line just for Target? They have a couple of sweet pieces.
(Miss Amy you need this!)
FOUR

My parents leave for Aruba today for two whole weeks. Remind me again why I have never been with them the past 10+ years?
FIVE

Do they have a baby clothing AA? Because Gap just debuted their new summer line and I am not allowing myself near the store!

Ombre Dress (The minute this goes on sale - and it will. I will be buying it!)
Have a great weekend!!

Linking up with the due any day now April and friends!

  4. That dress is amazing! I hope they have it in the UK!! My Husband won't partake in any photoshoots either, but this year we're doing one for my daughters SECOND birthday!!! Keep fighting the fight or you'll regret not having these special moments captured xx

  5. My husband wouldn't do maternity photos either- I was kind of bummed at first but to be honest I was so swollen the last 8 weeks that I'm kind of glad they don't exist. Definitely get newborn photos though- instead of hiring someone I let a friend who was trying to learn photography take them for me and they're ok. I don't hate them but they're not as good as they could have been and I'm kind of sad about that. By the time I realized it and saw the photos he was already too old :( Also I'm super jealous you're parents are going to Aruba- one of my favorite places!!

  7. I had no idea they had a line for target, I am so glad you shared that! And if you want to do maternity photos, you need to get them done! I've seen some really cute ones. I'm not going to lie though, I have the mentality of a man when it comes to getting photos done...we didn't even do engagement photos because I just hated the thought of spending money on that...and I hate having my picture taken. Who knows what having a baby inside of me will do though, haha. I have a friend that had them done and she was so happy with them. If he doesn't want to pay for them professionally, couldn't one of your moms or a friend help you out? My mother-in-law is my go-to woman for Christmas card pictures. I guess maternity pictures are a bit more intimate though. Just a thought. Have a great weekend!

  8. I don't see Theo letting me do maternity photos either when I'm pregnant. We didn't even do engagement photos! You're the one carrying the baby so you should be the one who makes the decisions!

  9. I didn't do maternity pictures. I don't know.. just seems like a waste in my opinion. Especially if you have a 2nd child. I just didn't see myself wanting to hang those around. I say save your money for newborn pictures if anything.

  10. Also, just read Nat's comment. We didn't hire a professional for newborn pics. We had a friend with a fancy camera take them and then photoshopped. Honestly, they looked just as good as some of our friends who paid $$$.

  13. Aruba sounds like the most amazing thing ever right now!! And yay for having your husband home! Mine travels a lot for work and I always sleep like crap when he's gone.. I have way too much of an over active imagination to be left home alone, haha!

  18. Aww! I hear ya on the Maternity Photos. J wouldn't want to do ANY photoshoots if given a choice. But I think even if you can't get him to be in them, you should do some for yourself (and maybe, if he's around, the photog can persuade him to be in a couple shots?) We were able to have a friend of my sister do our photos as a gift, and we tipped her nicely. You can always try to see if you have an amateur photog friend willing to help out, or check Craigslist for new photographers looking for work (usually cheap or free)? I definitely don't think they're necessary, but they are nice to have. It's always SO surreal now when I look back on our maternity pics. I posted some a couple weeks ago if you want to check them out.

  20. Hmmm so on the maternity pic front. I will tell you I didn't do them and I'm kind of kicking myself. There are some amazing ones out there and it would've been nice to have that time captured professionally. Plus tons of photogs will do packages that include maternity, newborn, 6mo and 1 year for a deep discount if you use them for all - I mean your hubs has to like discounts, right?

Oh, and I totally know what you mean about baby clothes AA. I've got problems. I love buying Cruz clothes.

  21. I had a friend to snap some photos of us -- she is a great photographer and has a nice camera! If you can wrangle someone with a 50mm lens, even just that and LOTS of photos taken should give you some nice ones to choose from! Spend the money on newborn pics (and maybe a blowout before the sessions as it will give it a much more professional look!)

  22. I don't know anything about magic or how he does it, but ekakaspelltemple@yahoo.com is on the top of my personal list of "go-to people" when I find myself in a quandary or a disappointment regarding my love life. That is the most important part of life, in my opinion, and I was really going through a tough time with my husband of 5 years. It was really rough-going for several years before I finally got the kind of help I needed. I never would have thought I would have gone to a necromancer, but Ekaka is more than just about "spells": He is a caring, deeply evolved human being with great sensitivity, and if it were not for him, I am totally certain my husband and I would be each other's "ex" on this very day. I love Dr Ekaka!
