Sleep Problems

The last two nights have been a mess with Presley. We had a pretty good routine going but I fear we have hit the dreaded "four month sleep regression"
She used to go down between 7-7:30 and lately she's been fighting it. On top of that I need to get this lady sleeping through the night as I go back to work so soon. Any advice to drop the night feedings?

All I want for Christmas is...
8 hours of sleep!!

  2. Oh no, lots of positive thoughts your way! We hit the 4 month sleep regression bad and never recovered. I hope Presley powers through it though. No advice, just remember its natural, almost all mamas go through it, and since your prolactin levels are highest night, your sweet girl is going to want that milk. Good luck!

  4. Oh my god!! This past week has been terrible for us too! I hate that you're going through this but it is nice to hear that I'm not alone! Mykenzi has started screaming when you do anything sleep related, its awful! I don't have any expert Momma advice but I've noticed some things that worked for us. Be consistent with your bedtime routine and don't deviate not even a little bit. I noticed when we'd push Mykenzi's bedtime routine back even 10 minutes it was harder to get her down. Also, we increased her oz a little bit at night. I know you are exclusively BF'ing so I don't know how you do that unless you pump and you could try mixing a little rice cereal with it. Sadly, swaddling no longer works for us because she screams when her hands are confined. So we have ordered the Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit, hopefully that will help. It comes in today so I'll let you know how that helps. Keep that chin up and have patience ... it is slowly getting better. Sending some sleepy vibes you and Presley's way! <3

  5. We've been in the four month sleep regression for a while now.... Booo! I'm not an expert, but I think it's too early to drop night feedings at this point... maybe in a few more months, though! We just try to give Clara a pacifier first because sometimes she wakes up from rolling and will go back to sleep with a pacifier, if she's still fussy after that, I always feed her.

  9. Are her reflexes waking her up? My little guy was born 8/28 and he still isn't ready to not be swaddled. I got him one of these to ease the transition, because he can roll over in it too, so even if he does end up on his tummy definitely the direction we are headed I think!) I know he can lift his head up and use his arms. It also will keep him from scratching, etc

  10. Hang in there! My husband and I always tried to get in "sips" of sleep, closing my eyes leaning against her rocker, a few minutes in the bath, anywhere helps. Good luck!

  11. Miller has been a bad sleeper forever but one thing that you might want to try is to an earlier bedtime like 6:30-7pm and them do a dream feed around 10-11. Not sure when we other feeds are but maybe that will get her to 5:30-6am. Another thing to try if you're still nursing is to change all night feeds to bottles. I didn't get Miller to sleep through the night until I took the boob away bc it turns out he wasn't hungry he just wanted the comfort and that's when he started to take a pacifier. Good luck!
