Loving Lately

Faux Mongolian Lamb Pouf
Just purchased this while it was on sale for the nursery. We will use it as an ottoman with our chair. It looks huge in this photo but I think it will be the perfect size.
Pineapple Weekender Tote
For all you pineapple fanatics out there! There is also another one I can only seem to find in store with white stars on it. I might need to snag it as it would make for a great hospital bag! Pretty much need to start packing that up in 5 weeks or so. Any suggestions of must haves let me know!

Ivory Aberdeen Battery Operated Lanterns
We had guests over at our house on Friday evening so we decided to do some sprucing up of our backyard. Our landlord is replacing our fence sometime this week and I am so nerdily excited. It will make a HUGE difference! While we are still very actively looking for a home to purchase there is literally nothing on the market. So we decided to make the best out of where we live (which is perfectly fine!) and enjoy it. There are perks to living life without a mortgage :)

I purchased an umbrella from Cost Plus and my friend had some lanterns left over from a nursery project she was happy to give me. I think these little light up ones would be a perfect addition!
 Multi Crystal Beaded Necklace
I would have to try this on in person but I think this would go great with various maxi dresses. AKA summer uniform.
Hemnes Chest
So here is the dresser I was going to purchase for the nursery since the original one turned out to be a flop. The has a "white stain" on it as opposed to a glossy finish. So here is my dilemma - I like rustic. But it's getting close to D day and I don't want to be stressing over finding the perfect dresser on Craigslist to refinish. What I like about this one is the drawers are deep and lined and also it's the perfect size. I was going to swap out the pulls for either mercury glass knobs or nickle pulls. What's your guy's opinion? Buy it and be finished? Or continue the hunt? I do like this one a lot and to be honest it goes with our crib pretty well. #firstworldproblems

  1. omg we returned that dresser this weekend! well the slightly bigger version. we wont have room for it in our new apartment and we never put it together. i kept the nightstands tho. i really love the sleek finish -- but that's my style. i think if you switch out the knobs or pulls you can make it a little more rustic. xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  3. We have a lot of the Hemnes collection in our house from Ikea.....and we like it. If you like rustic and but you are tired of looking. Keep the dresser and find some antique frames for the room. And change the knobs to anthro crystal cuties!

  7. I have that Ikea dresser- but the glossy version and so far I've loved it in our nursery. The drawers are huge and you could fit so much stuff in them. I suggest just getting that and adding some new knobs- Anthropologie always has awesome knobs! The new umbrella with the lanterns is so cute- yay for a new fence!

  9. I think that dresser would be a perfect option for the nursery, and I think replacing the knobs is a great idea. It might give the dresser an entire different look that you'll love!! Don't stress, keep it. :)

  10. I say get the dresser and dress it up with some new knobs like you were talking about. Once your little girl comes along the last thing you will be thinking about is your dresser anyways :)

  13. That umbrella is so cute and cheerful! And with the lanterns and new fence it's going to be the perfect spot to enjoy summer BBQ's! And I love the pouff you got for the nursery, that room is going to be seriously adorable! Also, Tina at Carrots n Cake just did a post on her hospital bag. And a few weeks ago she asked readers what they suggested, and there are a lot of good comments with ideas :)

  15. Love the poof! Great find :) I would say get the dresser so you have one - and you can keep looking for something perfect at the same time! Ikea's prices are so great it's worth it to buy and not have the stress...but if something better comes along you can throw it up on Craiglist or something and replace it! ;)

  16. I love your outdoor area, its so pretty with that teak umbrella!! Loving that ottoman too! I would suggest getting the Ikea dresser, but maybe waiting a little to put it together just in case you come across another one. Is the Ikea dresser better quality than the first dresser with the pretty pulls? That one looked so nice in your picture!
