Visions of Denim

I am a firm believer that one person can never have enough jeans in their wardrobe (especially if they are acceptable work attire). I tried on an amazing pair yesterday however the price tag of $245 was enough to make me gag. (But I still linked them below - because hello they made me feel skinny!)

However when I think of the things I splurge on it's most definitely denim. I have this little made up thing I like to say called "Ratio to Wear" which simply means the more you wear it the less it costs. For example I bought a pair of sunglasses I loved in 2012 for $200 well it's 2015 and I still love them! So they basically cost me $4 a month - that's mere pennies a day :) Now that you know my inner thought process maybe we can help rationalize it to David (wink, wink)

Well I am lusting for some new denim and these are just a couple that have my attention.

  1. I agree with the cost to wear ratio! It makes buying formal wear a tough one to rationalize for me though, and those things are usually expensive ;). I have to admit though that Jcrew are the most expensive jeans I've ever bought.

  2. I started buying expensive-ish jeans the past few years and it makes such a difference! They wash better, feel better, stay stretchy, and are more flattering. It really does pay off to spend a bit more on a good pair. And I find that you don't need 10 pairs in your closet either. Just get 3 or so nice pairs and you're good to go! How's that for rationalizing! haha

  3. I also agree with the cost to wear ratio (my husband, however, does not lol). And honestly, I think expensive jeans fit SO much better! I've recently been cheap and bought some jeans from Old Navy but I used to have Sevens and Citizens and Paige wayyyyyy before I even got married or had kids. I've recently been shopping on thredUp and found some Sevens that I got as a steal for $35 but they definitely fit better than my Old Navy jeans! I might need to splurge soon... especially since its almost my birthday :)

  6. Hahaha love the sunglasses rationalization - I do the same thing! A great pair of jeans can last years, so I say if they are amazing and good quality, they are totally worth the $200+ price tag!!

  7. I totally agree with you! The price is worth it if you love them for years. Problem is, I find a new pair of expensive jeans I want every season!
