Five on Friday

one

On Sunday Happily Ever Parker turns ONE! Crazy to think I started with this post 1 year ago. A big thank you to Natasha for always helping me out in blogland and helping me find a lot of you!

two

I need to make a decision on the nursery rocker within the next two weeks. I know which one I want (seen below) but my goodness, it's pricey. With a 10-12 week ship out I better figure it out soon!

Wingback Convertible Rocker
I have also seen this IKEA hack featured on Interiors by Kenz
But against popular blogging notion....I really don't like anything IKEA (aside from the cute Hemnes dresser line). In fact being inside an IKEA makes me feel claustrophobic! Plus this chair looks nowhere near as cozy as the PBK one. Does anyone have either and what do they think?

three

Thank you all for your awesome feedback on my amazing dresser find. I think I am sticking with the general consensus and leaving it white. We picked up some new paint last night and it's more of a milky white as opposed to a stark white. I am excited to put David to work on it! We also have a small nightstand they we are going to paint gray. That way it's not all white everywhere.

four

Tell You What Wedge Sandal
I'm thinking these need to be apart of my summer wardrobe.

five

I also want to wish my friend Whitney a very Happy Birthday!!
I'll be 35 weeks pregnant at her wedding (oh goodness) but it will also be the day after I begin maternity leave! Cannot wait to celebrate you!!

  6. I just ordered this rocker from Target. The downside is that I didn't actually get to try it out before purcasing, but I did sit in another upholstered glider at our Target and was happy with it and thought I would give it a try. Using my red card saved us $90 in shipping and handling as well! http://www.target.com/p/eddie-bauer-wingback-upholstered-rocker-grey/-/A-14851358

  7. Gliders are expensive but worth it if comfortable. I use ours multiple times a day and my son is 18 months old. Ours wasn't cheap either (from land of nod) but I'm so glad we bought it!

  8. Happy almost one year!! That's so awesome! You'll be spending so much time in that glider might as well splurge! And those wedges look so great - you should totally get them! Hope you have a great weekend!

  9. i just sat in that chair at IKEA last weekend and it's surprisingly comfy!! However, the other one does look majorly squishy and comfortable. Tough choice! Both pretty though, so I'm sure you can't go wrong :) xox

  10. Here is my advice- get the most comfortable rocker ever!! I bought a yard sale find for $100 that matched my decor but is horribly uncomfortable. Clearly a rookie mistake. I sit in that thing 3-4 times a day still and all I do is dream about having a soft comfy one that I don't hate. For my next baby I am going all out!!

  11. Happy {almost} blogiversary! ;) Love those wedges! I think I probably have at least 6 pairs of nude/tan wedges at home - they are my fav! xx

  12. I'm not a parent but I'd spring for the more expensive, comfier one since you'll probably be using it 24/7! Love those wedges and congrats on one year!! Have a good weekend!

  13. Happy Birthday Blog! I actually just sat in the wingback rocker in Pottery Barn kids the other day (just for fun!) and loved it!!!!!!! Go for it!

  14. I agree with you about ikea...I loathe going to that place. We do however have the hemnes set, and I really do love it. We also have their rectangular songe and mongstad mirrors...but that's as far as I've gone with ikea! I say splurge on the more expensive rocker...you'll be using it a lot and it's gorgeous.

  19. I want that wingback rocker for our house! Pick the PBK one! It's definitely a good investment piece.

Happy Anniversary Happily Ever Parker! :) Have a good weekend girl!

  20. Congrats on your 1 year! I would stick with the PBK rocker - it's beautiful and a piece you'll probably have for a long, long time so it's worth the investment ;) (plus, those ikea hacks make me nervous!)

  21. Happy Blogversary! I love the look of that PBK rocker! The Ikea one is pretty cute too! I couldn't let myself splurge as much as I wanted for our glider, but I'm glad in the end I got a good brand (Duatalier) and SO comfy glider. I slept in the chair even during pregnancy. The only thing is, I tested a few rockers and gliders, and I would think a test drive is a must. Some of the rockers felt more rocky (duh) and not as smooth as the gliders. Something to think about.

  22. Yay for bloggy birthdays!!! And how awesome is that Ikea hack one?? But the other is pretty....the price of things always hinder the look on certain items for me.... "$50 for that shirt?!? Ok, maybe it's not THAT cute..." hahaha

  24. We love our rocker from Buy Buy Baby. It's nice and plush like the PBK one but without the price tag. You can customize the fabric, piping, etc. I recommend going to BBB and testing the chairs out to see which is most comfortable to you, etc.

  29. Happy Blog anniversary TODAY! :) Yeah that PBK rocker looks really really comfy. I never really had a rocker. But I did use the yoga ball. A lot. Helps calm a fussy baby. Just a little tip for later. But my friend had a comfy glider I think and she would fall asleep in it with the baby a lot in those first few weeks. :)
