Five on Friday

1. I confess  - I didn't buy Presley a Halloween costume. Ugh. It makes me mad at myself that I didn't plan ahead. Actually we didn't do anything for Halloween this year. No buying pumpkins, no carving them and no making seeds. What the heck? I blame it on not planting any. Well we plan on making up for it today. It's suppose to storm here so we are headed to buy pumpkins and carve them and make seeds. Better late than never right?! All while watching the Giants parade of course!

2. I am headed on my first solo flight with Presley next week to visit my sister. It's just a short one hour, twenty minute flight but I am kinda nervous! Luckily my sister has a car seat and stroller I can use so I can leave all that at home. I plan on just putting her in my Solly wrap and crossing my fingers for a non eventful flight! Any tips for flying with an almost three month old throw my way!
This is me and the "little baby", Shea, I used to nanny in college. Wahhh, not so little anymore! And as you can see we are big fan's of the Solly wrap.

3. Since I found out I was pregnant on NYE last year I didn't really buy any winter clothing since I knew my body would be changing. Well now I find myself with nothing to wear this winter. My closet and dresser need a serious overhaul. I am having a hard time finding stuff I like but this is on it's way to me and I hope I like it!

4. I cannot believe it is the last day of October and as of tomorrow I will be returning to work NEXT MONTH. Even harder to believe that most people would have to be returning to work in two weeks since P is now 10 weeks old. The United States really needs to step it up on the maternity leave front. #canadastyle

5. Happy Halloween!! Be safe!

Linking up with April and friends!

  1. Aw no baby Halloween costume?! Don't worry though, we didn't get to carving a pumpkin either! Presley looks so cozy in the Solly wrap, I can't wait to get one! I may be going back to work at 6 weeks, so I'm pretty jealous of your maternity leave, but its pretty different for me since I work from home. Just try to soak up the time with your little one as much as you can!

  4. Ugh I agree, it completely freaks me out that I will only get 6 weeks unpaid maternity leave when I have a baby. I get anxious just thinking about that... We didn't really do anything at all special or festive towards Halloween either this year, fail

  5. I love that sweater! And funny you mention maternity leave-I just shared something about that on the blog today...I agree, the US needs to step it up. Have a good time with your sister and Presley-hope your flight goes well!

  6. We didn't dress Liam up for his first Halloween either. He was so tiny, and I think he forgave us! :-) Good light on your flight; I always thought they were easiest to travel with when they are young and don't need to be entertained. How are you liking your Solly?

  7. We didn't buy a Halloween costume for Eleanor either. We are not taking her trick or treating, and we live in a building that gets no trick or treaters, so she has a cute Halloween outfit and we are calling it a day.

    Good luck with your travels!

  9. I agree on the maternity leave!! Crazy moms (and dads!) in this country do not get more time off...not right.

  12. That solly wrap looks so comfy! Best of luck on your flight! I totally agree on the maternity leave. My employer has already started making me fill out paperwork and I was pretty much clueless. I was disappointed to find out that I get a max of 12 weeks off and only 5 weeks is paid. Grr....

  15. I am from Canada and currently on month 8 of maternity leave with my little girl. My heart goes out to American Mom and Dads, who get such little time off with their babies. I couldn't imagine having to go back so soon....

  17. Girl don't beat yourself up about Halloween. Here's the deal you will have plenty of time with P when she really gets it and can get into it. That's when it gets REALLY fun. Just enjoy time cuddling that cutie pie!

And that sweater...Oh my. I need it now!

Hope you had a great Halloween!

  18. We BARELY did anything for Halloween this year. I mean, I feel like I've taken on enough new roles in the past few months to need to dress up as yet another one - hahaha! We ended up going to a last minute party, which was really fun, but I feel ya for not having the energy to do anything. Also, when we flew with Clara at 2.5 months it was really easy! The flight you're taking is so short it will fly by (no pun intended). Some people suggest nursing or having a pacifier handy on takeoff and landing, but if Presley is sleeping you don't need to wake her up for that. I guess babies ears don't bother them as much at this stage as they will in a few more months with the altitude changes. If you have more specific traveling related questions, definitely email me!
