Friday's Fancies: Flight Essentials

Flight Essentials

While I am gallivanting around New York right now I thought I would link up to Friday's Fancies (in advance) for my go to flight essentials!

Gap 1969 zipper legging skinny jeans: I just bought these jeans after I saw my friend, Kerri, wear them to Carpe on Saturday night. They looked so cute on her and she raved about how comfortable they were so I decided to purchase them for New York. I wore them to work on Tuesday and they are incredibly comfortable! Good plane flight clothing!

GapFit Breath V-Neck T: I randomly picked one of these up because I had store credit that was burning a hole in my pocket and I am in love. I love to purchase clothes at Lululemon but seriously my work out tee's will all be from the Gap. This new line of breathable shirts are so soft and top quality! Again so comfortable for a long flight.

Denim Jacket: I like to wear a denim jacket on planes because they are easy to store away into my bag and go through security with. They also provide enough warmth without making me too hot.

Matt Bernson Flats: I prefer to wear flats over flip flops on planes,. Still easy to take off but cover enough of my foot so my tootsies don't get too cold! I like Matt Bernson because his are elastic in the back so when I cross my legs the heels don't pop off.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Large Tate Tote: I use this bag for all my carry on travel. It holds my blanket, water bottle (I fill it at the drink dispenser),candy, iPad and magazines just perfectly!

Giraffe at Home Blanket: Y'all know I don't travel anywhere without my favorite blanket! Love this one because it perfectly fits in my bag and I like to use it on the plane. It always gets a nice clean wash after every trip it takes!

iPad: I am a huge fan of my iPad and while I didn't purchase the one with WiFi on it I do download movies and things on it before a big trip. Currently I have episodes 4, 5, 6 & 7 of the first season of Downton Abbey to watch.  I am way behind on this but the first three episodes I saw I loved!

Dry Shampoo: After a long flight I like to freshen up with some dry shampoo. I recently received the Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo in my Birchbox and it smells heavenly! I also like to use hair ties like these for flights since they tend not to crease my hair.

Before I trek off for a long trip without David I like to bring one of his t-shirts to sleep in. I usually spritz it with his scent since it's such a comforting familiar smell.

And lastly what does a five hour flight next to your mother and sister need? A cocktail Cocktails plural!! Hopefully after a couple I will be able to zonk out!!

I'll be back on Wednesday!!
Have a great weekend!

Casual Friday

Casual Friday

I wish this was my ensemble today (just like I wish with every Friday's Fancies post!) I did bookmark those Matt Bernson flats to keep an eye on them for when they eventually go on sale. If you saw my Instagram (laurapark3r) from Monday, my leopard flats were by Matt Bernson as well and I adore them! Super comfortable and very cute!

This weekend David and I are headed to Lake Tahoe and I am so excited. He plays in an all-star softball tournament and instead of being a sweet wife and watching him play I hang out with Natasha. Such a better gig there!

Wilson and Finn when they were just babies!!

But this time around we get to hang out with sweet Ethan which is an added bonus (fueling that baby fire!) I am excited to see what we decide to do. Here is to hoping it includes Rum Runners!
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful long weekend!

Friday's Fancies: Back to School

Back to School

Although I have not had a "first day of school" since 2006 I would imagine this is how I would be fitted. If it were 2006 my outfit would probably look more like a Juicy Couture tracksuit and these:

marshmallow flip flops

Why were these EVER cool? Tell me I am not alone in wearing them...

I also just realized the above outfit would have been way out of my college budget but heck it's fun to pretend! Also if you are looking for a great bag to use everywhere I highly recommend the Marc by Marc Jacobs Tate Tote in Large. I bought one a couple of years ago on sale (it's funky colors) and I bring it everywhere, it's the perfect carryall for traveling!

This weekend I am watching two of my nephews (I have five!) while my sister and brother-in-law celebrate their ten year anniversary. Doing an overnighter with a 3 and 7 year old...wish me luck, I am already tired!
I also want to wish my sister-in-law, Lisa, a very
 Happy 29th Birthday!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Friday's Fancies: Running Errands

Running Errands

shoes // hat // dress // watch // necklace // jacket // purse (no longer available)

Aside from my usual go to outfit if I ever need to throw on something quick I usually turn to the maxi and denim jacket staple. It's easy, effortless & comfortable! I also own the Botkier purse featured but I never really wear it, I think it's time to take her out of her dustbag and show her some sunshine!

This weekend David and I are running errands. Checking out cars and hopefully beds - probably purchasing neither. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Tim McGraw Concert

Country Lovin'

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

I am headed to the Tim McGraw concert on Sunday with a group of friends for a surprise birthday party and I am so ready for a good country concert! I haven't seen Tim since college and well... that was a blur! One of the funnier memories from the previous Tim concert was we were not quite 21 yet (try 19!) and we strapped Coors Light to our calves with electrical tape - you can imagine how well that went! Luckily skinny jeans were not on trend yet so we could really use those flare pants to our advantage!

Luckily I have indeed grown wiser with each birthday...

This will also be me and David's first concert together. Which is crazy because we have been together 8+ years! To say we have opposing music tastes is an understatement. He's not a huge country fan but that's okay cause my girlfriends all love country!

If I had a virtual closet this is what I would be wearing on Sunday night, especially since the temps are going to be HOT! Another 90 degree weekend up ahead. Nothing pairs as well together as a tan, drinking, friends and a country concert.

Summer in my book has arrived!
