there aren't enough hours

There aren't enough hours
regardless of an extra hour of daylight

laundry is piling up
groceries need to be purchased
the dog needs to go for a walk
mama needs a nap

There aren't enough hours

I want to make dinner for my husband
But I ought to learn how to cook better
leftovers spoil
takeout is bought too often

There aren't enough hours

I purposely got glitter toenail polish on my toes
so I would be forced to get a pedicure
because getting glitter off is damn near impossible
but there are so many other things I rather be doing

There aren't enough hours

snuggling my baby girl
enjoying the sunshine
going to brunch
walking around a farmers market
feeling the sand under my toes
watching a movie cuddled up with my husband

There aren't enough hours

It is so very hard to be a working mom
feeling like I am not giving 100% anywhere
not at work and not at home
it's mentally exhausting

There aren't enough hours

To think that two hours of my day are spent commuting
eight hours are spent working
eight hours are (wishfully thinking) spent sleeping
and two-three are spent with P & David seems so unbalanced

There aren't enough hours

Thank goodness for tomorrow.
Sorry for the vent but just proof that it's not always sunshine and rainbows around here!

  1. Sorry sweet friend - you are so right though, there are not enough hours in the day! I don't even have a full time job and I don't think there are enough hours - life is so busy and so crazy! Wish we could all find a healthy balance x

  3. You're doing great Momma! Don't ever think for a second that you're not! This job is hard! I firmly believe it's even harder for working Mommas. Cut yourself some slack, you'll find a balance!

  4. I feel exactly the same way! I work 40 hours a week but I have a 45 minute commute. The good thing is that I work 12 hour shifts, so I do get a little more time during the week, but I hate having to do housework and grocery shop, etc when all I want to do is play with my little 7 month old babe. I think going back to work has helped me really relish the time off I have and we just try to make the most of it! I am lucky to have my mom and mother in law keep him while I work so that he is always with someone who loves him like I do! Hang in there momma!

  8. I'm scared to death that there won't be enough hours for me to be the mama that I want to be and work...and do everything else that needs to get done. sigh. Sounds like you're doing a great job because you're thinking about balance!

  9. There truly aren't enough hours - and I don't even work a 'normal' job! I'm still learning to delegate some responsibilities - like we just hired a cleaning service so we don't need to spend precious time we could be spending Clara cleaning the house instead. We'll see if the cost is worth it, but I think it will be! But you said it, thank goodness for tomorrow. You're doing great, friend.
